Dr. Armin Hoes, M.D.

Medical Director

Armin Hoes, MD is a Board Certified Psychiatrist based in Los Angeles, CA currently serving as Medical Director of Latitude Mental Health, a private mental health care practice specializing in evidence-based psychiatry, psychotherapy and wellness coaching services. Dr. Hoes also serves as Executive Director of the SportsPsychMDs, a 501c3 nonprofit organization providing healthcare and health educator training services to youth and families of underserved local communities.

Dr. Hoes’ previous clinical assignments include serving as a Staff Psychiatrist for The Kaiser Permanente Group of Southern California and Staff Psychiatrist for the Adult Mental Health services program of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.

Dr. Hoes is also Founder & CEO of MUUD Technology, a health-tech startup creating online and mobile based software tools synched to wearable health monitors that promote and facilitate wellness activity for improving mental health.

Dr. Hoes earned his Howard Degree from Howard University and completed Postdoctoral Residency Training at UCLA. During his residency training, Dr. Hoes served as Chief Resident of Education the VA training program. Before completing psychiatry training, Dr.Hoes also completed two years of postdoctoral training in Internal Medicine and Neurology. He also has 3+ years of clinical experience as an occupational health physician.

In addition, Dr. Hoes is a decorated combat veteran of the Iraq War Era proudly serving the US Air Force for 5 years as an Intelligence Officer. During his tenure, he lead classified intelligence missions that were essential to national security in support of the global war on terrorism. Dr. Hoes graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He is an exceptional writer, speaker and lecturer as well as executive producer and cohost of an internationally syndicated podcast, The SportsPsychMDs dedicated to reducing stigma through health education, policy reform and social justice.

Dr. Hoes is an expert in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of mental health conditions and has experience in all practice settings. He has extensive experience working in medically underserved communities and is dedicated to innovative approaches to expanding access to high quality care.
